Foleys Puts the Old Woody's Corner Back on the Park Boulevard Clock

The three addresses are 1010, 1015 and 1020 Park Boulevard, all a short walk from the Massapequa Park LIRR station. The Tap Room has been at 1010 since 2015. Bacaro Italian Tavern serves dinner at 1020. For years, 1015 was Woody's Village Saloon, known for a deep craft beer list. After Woody's wound down, the room sat dark.

Foleys opened in that room at 8 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026. That fills a storefront. It also changes when the block is open. Based on the hours each place has posted, these few doors now offer something from a weekend breakfast start to well past midnight. That depends on 1015 staying open early and late, which a dinner-focused block hadn't covered.

From coming soon to first Friday in two weeks

The opening came together fast. In early September, Long Island Wave reported that the Foleys sign was already over the entrance, "with a martini glass standing in for the Y." The company was hiring bartenders, servers, hostesses and kitchen staff, and its website still said coming soon. According to the Melville Chamber of Commerce, the State Liquor Authority issued the on-premises restaurant license for the address on September 3. It runs through August 2028. The new operation runs under Park Blvd Associates LLC.

Two weeks after that first report, the doors opened. The bar's announcement told the village the drinks were chilled and the kitchen was ready, and called it the bar's very first Friday night. The opening report pointed out the timing. The bar opened on the third weekend of football season, two blocks from the train.

The timeline:

  1. September 3: State Liquor Authority on-premises license issued for 1015 Park Boulevard.
  2. First week of September: Sign mounted, staff hiring underway, room set up to pour.
  3. September 18, 8 p.m.: Doors open to the public.

A Smithtown name in a different room

If you live south of Sunrise Highway, you may know Foleys by reputation. The original opened on the Smithtown Bypass in 2021. It's known for 28 rotating taps, pool tables and darts, karaoke on Thursdays, live music and DJs through the weekend, and staying open until 4 a.m. every night.

The Massapequa Park location is pitched differently. The company describes it as "elevated American fare and crafted cocktails," comfortable and polished, built to be social without trying too hard. The Melville Chamber called the new room "a notch dressier" than the original. It noted that this location "is being positioned for the block it is actually on" rather than copying Smithtown.

So the karaoke nights, DJs and pool tables in the opening coverage describe the Smithtown location. They haven't been confirmed for Park Boulevard. What the company has said about this location is sports-focused. Before opening, the bar pitched itself as the place to watch every game, with what it calls a massive screen and a layout it says has no bad seat.

The direction of the move is also unusual. Long Island bar expansions usually go the other way. A city name lands in Huntington or Patchogue, or a national chain takes a highway pad site. A homegrown Suffolk bar picking a Nassau village downtown for its second location is rarer. Long Island Wave's explanation is the train, the foot traffic and a late-night rhythm that most Nassau downtowns lost years ago.

How the posted hours fit together

This is where the block changes. Here is what each address has published:

Address Spot What the posted hours cover
1010 Park Blvd. Tap Room, open since 2015 Established neighbor with an online wait list; check its site for current kitchen hours
1015 Park Blvd. Foleys, opened Sept. 18, 2026 Hours posted before opening: 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. start Saturday, 10 a.m. start Sunday
1020 Park Blvd. Bacaro Italian Tavern Kitchen 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday; bar stays open later

Bacaro's own hours show the gap Foleys fills. Its kitchen doesn't open until 4:30 p.m. on weekends. Foleys posted a 9 a.m. Saturday start and a 10 a.m. Sunday start. That puts weekend breakfast, a full afternoon of games and a late-night bar in one building. On weeknights, Bacaro's kitchen closes at 9:30 or 10 p.m. Foleys' posted weekday hours run to 4 a.m.

One caveat. The Foleys hours were posted before opening, and they hadn't been reconfirmed when this was written. The location's website, foleysmassapequapark.com, is the place to check before a 9 a.m. Saturday plan or a late weeknight.

What a dark corner meant for the block

A vacancy in the middle of a busy strip affects more than one address. Long Island Wave called the old Woody's room the biggest question mark on Park Boulevard. It was a dark room in an otherwise busy stretch, and the paper now calls it the block's newest anchor. The same coverage notes that the Tap Room and a run of restaurants sit within two blocks of the station. It also says the boulevard has quietly become one of Nassau's better bar crawls.

The Melville Chamber read it the same way. An operator crossing from Suffolk into Nassau, taking over a corner that already had a bar and hiring a full staff, is "a straightforward vote of confidence in that stretch of Park Boulevard."

There's a practical side for anyone using the block. With Bacaro and the Tap Room as close neighbors, you no longer have to plan around that empty middle storefront. You can start a Sunday afternoon game at one address and walk a few doors up the block for dinner. A late train home also passes a room the posted hours say is still open.

Before you head over

  • Confirm the hours first. The weekday 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. schedule and the weekend morning starts come from pre-opening announcements. Check foleysmassapequapark.com for anything time-specific.
  • Expect game-day crowds. The bar opened during football season and has marketed itself around watching games.
  • Call ahead for dinner at 1020. Bacaro takes reservations at 516-798-1555.
  • Join the wait list at 1010. The Tap Room at 1010 lists its number as (516) 590-7030 and offers an online wait list through its location page.
  • Take the train. The 1000 block is a short walk from the Massapequa Park LIRR station, so a night out doesn't have to involve parking.

The Foleys sign with the martini-glass Y now hangs over 1015 Park Boulevard. The address that sat dark now carries an on-premises restaurant license that runs through August 2028.
